Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

We’re in Johnson and Cambridge, Vermont, nestled between Stowe and Smugglers’ Notch in the heart of the Green Mountains. Most of our stays are within 5–15 minutes of trailheads, rivers, breweries, and small-town village life.

What makes Uncommon Accommodations “uncommon”?

We build spaces with intention. Each stay is handcrafted, designed to spark a sense of adventure, connection, and fun. Expect unique architecture, natural materials, thoughtful details, and access to wild places. This isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s a memory.

What amenities are included?

It depends on the stay. Every unit has access to our hot tubs and saunas. Some of our cabins and tiny homes have full bathrooms and kitchens. Our seasonal glamping tents and buses offer more rustic amenities with outdoor showers and shared facilities. Each listing clearly outlines what’s included, so you know exactly what to expect.

Do you have bathrooms on site?

Yes, but the type varies. Full cabins and tiny homes have private bathrooms with hot water. Glamping tents and off-grid stays use shared seasonal outdoor showers with hot water and clean, regularly serviced porta-potties. We maintain everything carefully to keep it clean, comfortable, and easy.

Is there WiFi?

All of our stays have high-speed Starlink Internet. The fastest option available in our rural areas.

Are the stays heated and/or air-conditioned?

Yes, though heating and cooling vary by unit. Some have mini-splits, some have propane fireplaces or wood stoves, and some seasonal stays rely on Vermont breezes. Again, each listing spells out specifics, so you can book based on your comfort preferences.

Do you allow pets?

Most of our stays are pet-friendly. Others are pet-free to protect sensitive materials and finishes. You’ll see pet policy clearly noted in each listing.

Is parking available?

Yes. All stays include free on-site parking. Our Johnson property also has complimentary EV charging.

Is firewood provided?

Every stay has access to an outdoor fire pit. Firewood is available for purchase on-site ($10 per bundle, cash or Venmo). You may want to pick up some kindling and a lighter at the local gas station.

Is river access available?

Yes, the Lamoille River flows right through our Johnson property, and the Brewster River right through our Smuggler’s Notch property. You have direct river access for fishing, cold plunges, or swimming. Swim at your own risk and use caution.

What are some things to do nearby?

Hiking. Waterfalls. Swimming holes. Breweries. Skiing. Mountain biking. Small-town cafés.
