Maple Sugar Shack Tiny House

A cozy Vermont retreat infused with maple-sugar charm — where rustic warmth, modern comfort, and woodland tranquility come together

1449 Route 15, Johnson, Vermont

The Experience

The Maple Sugar Shack brings Vermont’s sweetest traditions to life in a perfectly crafted tiny house. Tucked beneath tall pines along the Lamoille River, this inviting retreat blends nostalgia and comfort in equal measure. Mornings begin with coffee on the deck as sunlight streams through the trees, followed by peaceful riverside walks or adventures to nearby sugar shacks and covered bridges. After a day exploring Stowe or Smugglers’ Notch, unwind in the shared hot tub or curl up by the propane fireplace with a mug of local maple cocoa.

This isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a celebration of Vermont’s cozy, homespun beauty. Every moment here invites you to slow down, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and savor life’s simple pleasures surrounded by nature.

The Uncommon Accommodation

Inside, the Maple Sugar Shack feels like a modern homage to the classic Vermont cabin. Warm wood finishes, buffalo-check details, and thoughtful design touches create a space that’s both inviting and refined. The main living area offers plush seating by the propane fireplace, while the kitchenette provides all the essentials for easy home-cooked meals.

Upstairs, the sleeping lofts feature a full bed and a twin bed tucked beneath sloped ceilings — perfect for couples or small families. The private bathroom includes a full shower with endless hot water, rare for a tiny home. Sunlight filters through large windows framing views of the forest, and your private deck is ideal for stargazing or morning coffee.

Blending craftsmanship, comfort, and local charm, the Maple Sugar Shack captures the essence of Vermont living — cozy, creative, and irresistibly welcoming.

What People Are Saying
★★★★★

“I had such a peaceful and wonderful stay at the Maple Sugar Shack! As a Long Island girl looking for a little getaway, Tyler's place more than delivered. The location was perfect--beautiful, woodsy scenery, but still close enough to larger areas like Stowe and Burlington. Check-in was easy and flexible, the place was super cozy and well-equipped, and Tyler was responsive and eager to help if needed. Overall, a truly unique and memorable experience--I'll definitely be back to try another one of his tiny homes.”

“Wow! All I can say. This was an amazing stay, I truly loved my time in this tiny dream house. Was able to get in the hot tub every night, very clean and relaxing. The fire pit was awesome and the scenery is beautiful. The inside of the home was a dream, bed and pillows were super comfy. Tyler was responsive during my entire trip. Would definitely recommend anyone considering it, book your trip!!”

“Uncommon Accommodations was truly a great, peaceful getaway! My partner and I really enjoyed being so close to Stowe while also getting to be tucked away in a little pocket of nature right near a beautiful river and waterfall. Our cabin was clean and filled with everything we needed for a couple days away. The hot tub and the fireplace were also a great treat! We had a lot of fun decompressing in the hot tub after a long day of hiking. Highly recommend this campground for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.”

“I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Maple Shack, it was really peaceful and the atmosphere was amazing, great views. The interior was very cozy and clean we had everything we needed, Tyler was very welcoming and responsive, providing clear directions, we walked around near the river it’s truly a beautiful sight it’s a great way to disconnect from the world at least for a while. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature, then Maple Shack is the place for you. We’ll definitely be back!”

“This was such a cute and unique experience. You are surrounded by beautiful nature and we loved it. We loved the extra bits included like the hot tub and fire pit. We went during lots of snow ( well lots for a Georgia girl ) and the street was plowed and salted for us. Thank you! Tyler was a great host and was always quick to respond. We would absolutely stay again! Thanks for a different rental experience!”

“This tiny home is very cozy and has it's own bathroom (toilet, shower, sink) inside which makes it convenient as well as a kitchenette (microwave, coffee maker, minifridge). The ladders climbing up to the bed made going to bed a fun experience. This tiny home would be perfect for a group of friends who are trying to book a ski trip together but want separate places to sleep at the end of the day as this home is located on a "campus" of other unique cabin style/tiny homes that encircle a hot tub and fire pit with chairs. Stowe Mountain is only 30 minutes away driving which makes it closer by enough for skiers/snowboarders to stay at and have some privacy. Tyler was very responsive and was actually on site for a few hours building what looked like his next unique accommodation. Would highly recommend and definitely stay at again!”
