Modern Tiny House
Johnson, Vermont

  • The Experience

Designed by Vermont-based builder Up End This, this modern tiny house offers an inspiring blend of contemporary design and natural simplicity. Nestled along the Lamoille River on our 14-acre property, it’s part of Uncommon Accommodations — a collection of handcrafted stays that celebrate Vermont’s wild beauty and creative spirit.

Here, you’ll wake to the sound of the river and the scent of pine drifting through your open windows. Days can begin with coffee on your private deck overlooking the forest, followed by a stroll to the swimming hole or a soak in the shared outdoor hot tub under the trees. When adventure calls, the best of northern Vermont is just beyond your doorstep: the shops and galleries of Johnson village are five minutes away, and world-class skiing, mountain biking, and hiking await in Stowe, Smugglers’ Notch, and Jay Peak.

Whether you’re seeking inspiration, romance, or a peaceful place to reset, this tiny home creates a sense of calm connection — to nature, to craftsmanship, and to a slower rhythm of life.

  • The Space

Inside, the home feels light, open, and thoughtfully designed. Every element — from the sleek lines of the exterior to the locally milled wood accents inside — reflects Up End This’s signature approach: simple forms, sustainable materials, and smart use of space.

The living area features a comfortable seating area and large windows framing views of the Green Mountains and Lamoille River. The compact kitchen is equipped with a cooktop, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker, perfect for preparing a cozy breakfast or dinner in. A dining nook doubles as a workstation with high-speed Starlink WiFi, so you can stay connected if needed.

The sleeping area offers a plush full bed with soft linens and warm lighting for a restful night’s sleep. The modern bathroom includes a full shower and unlimited of hot water — a rare luxury in tiny living. Outside, your private wrap-around deck invites you to unwind with a book, share a meal, or simply listen to the gentle rush of the river nearby.

Every design detail has purpose — creating a surprisingly spacious feel while maintaining the simplicity that makes tiny-house living so refreshing.

  • Guest Access

Guests have private access to the entire tiny house, deck, and designated parking area. Outdoor amenities — including the riverfront, fire pit, and shared hot tub — are available to all guests staying on the property. The hot tub is open year-round and offers the perfect place to unwind under Vermont’s starlit skies.

You’ll have complete privacy inside your home, but we’re just a message away if you need local recommendations or assistance during your stay. Check-in is simple and self-guided, and the property is easily accessible year-round.

This is modern Vermont living at its most peaceful — a place where design and nature meet, and every stay feels like a breath of fresh air.
