Whimsical Vermont Cabin

A fairytale retreat high in Vermont’s hardwood canopy, blending artisan craftsmanship, mountain serenity, and year-round luxury

1449 Route 15, Johnson, Vermont

The Experience

Step into a handcrafted fairytale suspended in the trees. The Whimsical Vermont Cabin offers an immersive escape where design and nature coexist in perfect balance, open year-round for every season of mountain beauty. Wake to birdsong drifting through the maples, sip your morning coffee on the suspended deck as mist rises from the valley below, and feel the rhythm of Vermont slow everything down. In summer, wander down to the river for a swim or soak in the shared hot tub under a canopy of stars. In winter, return from the slopes to curl up by the Vermont Castings fireplace, surrounded by the scent of pine and the glow of hand-finished wood. Every detail—from the spiral staircase crafted from forest vines to the twin rain showers set in Vermont slate—invites you to breathe deeply, rest fully, and reconnect with what matters most. Here, luxury feels natural, and nature feels like home.

The Uncommon Accommodation

Lovingly designed and built by local artisan Timothy Forest, this one-of-a-kind treehouse-style cabin is a true expression of Vermont craftsmanship and imagination. Every element tells a story—from the live-edge pine siding milled from local timber to the spiral staircase sculpted from saplings and vines gathered right on the property. Inside, Douglas fir beams and green slate tiles meet handcrafted furniture and fine detailing, creating a space that feels both organic and elevated. The cabin is fully equipped for year-round comfort with heating, air conditioning, and a modern kitchen, blending rustic artistry with modern ease. Step outside to a deck suspended in the hardwood canopy, where mountain views stretch across the Sterling Range and the forest whispers below. This is more than a place to stay—it’s a living work of art that captures the spirit of Vermont: creative, soulful, and deeply connected to the land.

What People Are Saying
★★★★★

“The cabin is beautifully constructed and has a great vibe as soon as you come in. The craftsmanship in the details are a great reflection of Vermont and the deep connection to woods and forest. The deck provides a lovely view of the valley and woods. Walking down to Dogs head falls is a must - take off your shoes and enjoy the soft pine needle “floor”. It’s a great place to melt away your stress. Probably good fishing too! Just the serenity of the birds in the woods. The kitchen is small but new with an induction stove top making it ideal for one pot meals. The bathroom is beautifully tiled. Would be a great spot to easily hop to Smugglers or Stowe for winter 🎿.”

“My husband and I chose Tyler’s peaceful cabin for our short honeymoon. It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind after wedding Chaos! We made a trip to Stowe and had some good food & drinks and we did a beautiful waterfall hike (Mills Trails to Bingham). We thoroughly enjoyed the view off the back deck and the hot tub! We LOVED the uniqueness of each cabin! Uncommon Accommodations could be the perfect spot for a large friend group! Tyler was very responsive and kind… 10/10 recommend for a peaceful getaway😊”

“We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was so beautiful, and had a lot of tiny little touches that were really pretty. It was located on a beautiful and secluded property, with other tiny cabins around but still lots of privacy. The river nearby was fun to swim in and we made great use of the hot tub! The kitchen was stocked with what we needed for a few days, and the bed was comfortable. Easy access to lots of great hikes, and the local rail trail. Tyler was immediately responsive and you could tell he cared about making sure we had a great stay!”
