MOUNTAIN ADVENTURES AT YOUR DOORSTEP

Smugglers’ Notch Resort is just minutes away, offering skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking and year-round outdoor activities.

Our suspension footbridge crosses the Brewster River and connects the property to the neighboring Smugglers’ Notch Resort trail system, making it easy to set out for hiking and mountain biking adventures without getting in the car.

In summer, enjoy swimming holes, waterfalls, hiking, biking and long Vermont evenings outdoors. Fall brings spectacular foliage throughout the Green Mountains, while winter transforms the area into a snowy mountain playground.

Lot 6 Brewing and Full Send Pizza are right next door and within easy walking distance. The village of Jeffersonville is just a few minutes away for restaurants, cafés, shops and everyday essentials.

Whether you're planning a ski weekend, family vacation, foliage getaway or a relaxing mountain retreat, The Mountain House combines the comforts of a spacious private home with the amenities and atmosphere of an intimate riverside resort.

Guests have full access to the entire upper level of the duplex and several hundred feet of private river frontage, including scenic swimming holes in summer and access to Smugglers’ Notch Resort’s trail network right from the property. The riverside hot tub is shared with other guests on-site and maintained year-round for your enjoyment. The home is just one minute from the Resort and offers stunning year-round views of the Notch.

IMPORTANT: THE MOUNTAIN HOUSE IS PART OF A TWO-UNIT BUILDING

The Mountain House occupies the main floor of a two-unit building, with a separate basement apartment directly underneath. The lower apartment may be occupied by other guests during your stay.

Both accommodations have separate private entrances and independent living spaces. There are no shared interior rooms, but you may hear normal household sounds between the two units.

Your reservation includes exclusive use of the entire three-bedroom main floor and its private hot tub. The basement apartment is not included in your reservation.

ABOUT THE RESORT

The Mountain House is located within Uncommon Accommodations at Smugglers’ Notch, a boutique riverside resort featuring several individual luxury mirror cabins and shared outdoor amenities.

While your home and private hot tub are exclusively yours, the riverside sauna, additional hot tub, outdoor shower, firepit, trails and other resort amenities are shared with guests staying in the mirror cabins and basement apartment.

You may encounter other guests enjoying the grounds, walking the trails or using the shared spa facilities. Please respect neighboring accommodations, private decks and areas designated for other guests.

RIVER, BRIDGE & OUTDOOR SAFETY

Our suspension footbridge crosses the Brewster River and provides access to the neighboring Smugglers’ Notch Resort trail system. Trail conditions vary seasonally, and appropriate footwear is recommended.

The Brewster River is a beautiful natural feature of the property, but water levels and currents can change quickly with rainfall and snowmelt. Swimming and cold plunging are at your own risk. Please supervise children near the river, bridge, hot tubs and other outdoor amenities.

PEACEFUL MOUNTAIN SETTING

We ask guests to be considerate of those staying in the apartment below and the neighboring mirror cabins. Quiet hours begin at 11:00 PM. Parties, events and unauthorized guests are not permitted.

The property is conveniently located just off Notch Road, so occasional passing traffic may be heard.

GETTING AROUND

A car is recommended for exploring the area. Smugglers’ Notch Resort and Jeffersonville are just minutes away, while Lot 6 Brewing and Full Send Pizza are within walking distance.

During winter, Route 108 through Smugglers’ Notch closes to vehicle traffic beyond the resort. Although Stowe is geographically close, the alternate winter driving route can take approximately an hour, depending on conditions. Snow tires are strongly recommended.

Our local team is nearby and available by message or phone if you need assistance during your stay. Otherwise, we'll respect your privacy and leave you to enjoy The Mountain House and the surrounding property at your own pace.
